Cappies Program
CAPPIES (Critics and Awards Program)
Teens and Theatre is proud to participate in the Cappies of the National Capital Area. We are the only troupe to offer this opportunity to homeschooled performers and writers.
One production per year is selected as the Cappies show and is eligible for area-wide awards, in the high school equivalent of the Tonys or the Helen Hayes Awards. Additionally, aspiring theatre writers can participate as Cappies Critics who attend other high school performances, write reviews, and vote for the award recipients in various categories.
The Cappies were founded in 1999, and homeschoolers have participated every year since 2005.
