Weekend and evening classes for teens
September–June
TnT Improv at the Comedy
Spot,
Ballston Common Mall, Arlington VA
Sundays,
1–2:30 pm Beginning classes
for 11–16 year olds
$200/8-week
session
Classes cover short forms of
improv and theatre games. Eight-week sessions with performance at end
of each session. Bonus free passes to Comedy Sportz shows while
enrolled.
Sundays,
3–4:30 pm
Intermediate classes for
15–18 year olds
$200 for 8-week
session
Classes cover short and long
forms of improv, with a performance at the end of each 8-week
session. Bonus free passes to Comedy Sportz shows while enrolled.
Session 1 - September 13, 20, 27, October 4, 2-week break*, 25, November 1, 8, 15. Showcase November 15. *Class will not be held October 11 or 18 because Teens and Theatre will be performing at the National Pediatrics Conference in Washington, DC. Students wishing to participate, please email Ripstarr@aol.com.
Session 2 - December 6, 13, 20, holiday break, January 10, 17, 24, 31, February 7. Showcase February 7.
Special event between sessions—February 13 and 14 - Teen Improv Festival: This teen improv festival will involve students from around the metropolitan area.
Session 3 - February 21, 28, March 7, 14, 21, 2-week break, April 11, 18, 25. Showcase April 25.
Session 4 - May 2, 16, 23, 30, June 6, 13, 20, 27. Showcase June 27.
September–May
Teen Master Acting Workshop
Saturday
morning, 9 am–noon
for ages 14–19
$600/8-week
session
Classes designed for young
actors seriously considering an acting career. The class provides an
overview of different method systems, professional protocol, and
acting theory. Extensive scene and monologue work.
Session 1 September 12–October 31
Session 2 November 7–December 19, January 9

College Audition Prep 1
6 Wednesday evenings, 7–8:30
pm
$500
This class will help the student choose target
schools and prepare pieces for a competitive audition process. The
student will come out of the class with an arsenal of tools for the
college auditions in mind.
November
4–18, December 2–16
College Audition Prep 2
6 Wednesday evenings, 7–8:30
pm
$500
We
further prepare the student's audition arsenal with text analysis and
method acting work not available in most local high schools. This
class is designed to give the student a preview of usable techniques
for entry into college theatre programs. Six-week sessions.
