At Teens and Theatre, we practice co-operative casting; if you sign up for a show/class you are immediately in the show. As the director and class explore the Script the first couple of sessions, each student actor is given the chance to try on several roles. When we, as a group, find the mix that works for the play, we solidify the roles. This process allows the student to see the casting process from the actor’s and director’s standpoint. This gives the student a fuller appreciation of the show as a whole and an understanding of the entire workings of the process.
