Dominic Cooke’s Arabian Nights

There is both comedy and drama in the Arabian Nights.  We're talking about 40 thieves, cruel kings, etc.  But any way you cut it, it's far, far, less tragic than Medea. :-)  Ditto for Alladin.

These are definitely family friendly shows, suitable for all ages.  We expect a lot of younger children in the audience.

As I understand it, the acting will be far easier in Arabian Nights and Alladin, but the tech will be far more challenging.  The sets and costumes will be more complicated, and the kids will be building and operating puppets for parts of Arabian Nights.

You can read more about the Dominic Cooke adaptation of Arabian Nights at this website:

The original version has 9 actors who play multiple roles.  However, there are 53 roles in the show, so there are plenty of parts, big and small, to go around for everyone.

Come join Homeschool Teens and Theatre (TNT) for our exciting production of Dominic Cooke's "Arabian Nights", our Cappies show for 2008.  This entertaining adaptation of the classic tales of a "Thousand and One Nights" is family friendly and appropriate for all ages.

Performances will be Friday, April 4 at 7:00 pm, Saturday, April 5 at 2:30 pm, Sunday April 6 at 2:30 pm, Friday April 11 at 7:00 pm, Saturday April 12 at 2:30 pm, and Sunday April 13 at 2:30 pm.  All performances are by our high school cast, with the exceptions of the April 5th and 13th shows, which are performed by our middle school cast.
